Public notices are provided to alert citizens of actions or pending actions by government entities, or of the courts.

Public Notification System

Sign up for MITCHELL COUNTY ALERTS. In the event of an emergency or severe weather, an alert will be sent to the phone number and/or email address provided by voice, text and/or email.

This is a free service provided by Mitchell County, IA, however, normal message fees may apply. To receive text messages to your cell phone, your cell phone must have text messaging capabilities. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT FOR PRIVATE DEVELOPMENTBETWEEN A TO Z DRYING, INC., AND MITCHELL COUNTY, IOWA

The Board of Supervisors of Mitchell County, Iowa, will hold a public hearing commencing at 8:45 o’clock a.m. on August 29, 2023, at the Mitchell County Courthouse, 212 S 5th Street, Osage, Iowa 50461, to consider approval of a proposed Contract for Private Development between A to Z Drying, Inc., and Mitchell County,, Iowa.
A copy of the proposed contract is on file for public inspection in the office of the County Auditor, County Courthouse, Osage, Iowa. The contract provides for financial assistance to A to Z Drying, Inc., through the City’s Tax Increment Financing program, to encourage the company’s facility expansion and the creation and retention of jobs in the community.
Any person or organization desiring to be heard shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard at such hearing or may submit written comments prior to the date of said hearing with respect to said proposed development agreement. This Notice is given by order of the Board of Supervisors of Mitchell County, Iowa .

Notice of Public Hearing, 2023 Urban Renewal Plan Amendment

Notice is given that on August 29, 2023 at 8:45 o’clock a.m., at the Mitchell County Courthouse, 212 S. 5th Street, Osage, Iowa, or by electronic means, the Board of Supervisors of Mitchell County will hold a public hearing on the question of amending he urban renewal plan for the Mitchell County Urban Renewal Area to facilitate the undertaking of new urban renewal project in the Urban Renewal Area consisting of using tax increment financing to provide an economic development 15A grant to A to Z Drying, Inc.. A copy of the amendment is on file for public inspection in the office of the County Auditor.
At said hearing any interested person may file written objections or comments and may be heard orally with respect to the subject matter of the hearing.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Mitchell County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at 9:00 A.M. on September 13, 2022, in the Mitchell County Board of Supervisor’s room at the Mitchell County Courthouse in Osage, Iowa. The purpose of this hearing is to consider Mitchell County Ordinance No. 57, an Ordinance to amend the sewer disconnect and re-connect fees of Ordinance No. 39. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available at the office of the Auditor for public inspection and copies may be obtained at the Auditor’s Office. Anyone wishing to speak in support or opposition of this ordinance should be present at this meeting.
