Mitchell County Home Health Care & Public Health strives to Maintain, Strengthen, Improve and Safeguard the health of individuals, families and the communities in Mitchell County.  Home Health and Public Health services are for the client, the family, and the community.  We believe individuals and families have the right to make informed decisions and choices regarding their health care and independence. Services through Home Health and Public Health are available to EVERYONE residing in Mitchell County…from the young to the elderly, no matter what income, race, or gender. 

We would like you to know more about our agency and staff.  MCHHCPH was established in 1969, with 20 home care aides, 2 nurses and 1 office staff. We now have 6 nurses, 8 home care aides and 3 office staff. Mitchell County Board of Health is our governing body. We are Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran Administration, and Blue Cross Blue Shield certified, we have contracts with a variety of additional insurance companies and service providers, such as Wound & Ostomy care nursing, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Elderbridge Area Agency on Aging.

You can receive services even if you are not “homebound”.  There are a variety of service programs. We also have grant dollars to support additional home visit programs.  Services are available to anyone residing in Mitchell County, with no age restrictions. Referrals can be made by doctors, friends, neighbors, family, or self.

Come visit us at office just west of the courthouse, 415 Pleasant St. – Suite 100 in Osage, Iowa.  The office is located in the west wing of the building.

Office hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday – Friday.  After hours press 1 for the on call nurse.

Immunizations

COVID VACCINE - Mitchell County Home Health IMAGE

Mitchell County Home Health & Public Health is a Vaccines for Children (VFC) provider.

Immunizations are free for children 18 and under who qualify for this state-funded vaccine program. Vaccine is provided to us by the Federal and State Government.

Free vaccine will be available for Medicaid clients, those with no health insurance, American Indians, Alaskan Natives, or those whose health insurance does not cover vaccinations.


Donations of $10.00 are accepted for the administration fee of the vaccines

COST FOR PRIVATE PAY VACCINE:

Hepatitis B:  $55.00/dose, $165.00 for a series of three doses

Tdap:  $45/dose

Influenza:  $40/dose

Mantoux (TB): $15.00/dose
